Regular Meeting of the Scioto Township Trustees; Thursday December 26th, 2024 at 7:00 P.M. at the Scioto Township Service Center.

Trustees Present Chair Jahn, Wolfe.

Jahn led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Jahn moved to approve the minutes from the December 12th Regular Meeting. Wolfe seconded the motion. Vote; All Yes. Motion Carries.

Jahn moved to approve the minutes from the December 11th Special Meeting. Wolfe seconded the motion. Vote; All Yes. Motion Carries.

Reports made available; Fund Status, Payment Listing, Receipt Listing.

Bills since the last meeting $174,069.58. Receipts since the last meeting $104,923.37.

OPEN SESSION- None

DEPARTMENT UPDATES; Fire- Chief Cline reported that Engine 403 is being used by Harrison Twp, they have an engine that blew a turbo. Cline told the Trustees that Engine 401 is going to Fairfield Spring the week of Jan. 6th for warranty repair, it will be out of service for 30-40 days. Engine 403 will be returned prior to Engine 401 being put out of service. Cline is currently working on documentation for the SAFER Grant. Assistant Chief Bennett has finished his second week of OFE. Cline told the board that the toy drive and pancake breakfast was a bigger success than last year.

Zoning-Zoning Inspector Schulz reported that the property owners for the conditional use permit are still working with the Pickaway Co. Building and Health Dept.’s. Schulz told the board that he had nothing new to report on either the Graham Rd. Ravines or the abandoned alley’s in the former village. Schulz has had 1 new permit and has sent out 2 nuisance letters since the last meeting, the nuisances have been remedied. The Trustees and Schulz had a discussion about a possible operating business on Beavers Rd. Schulz gave the Trustees a list of permits from 2024.

Roads- Road Supervisor Murphy reported that he and Hudson have been picking up litter, repairing potholes and signs. They met with Fannin and Steven Smith from the Pickaway Co. Engineers to discuss the berming project on Snyder, Matville, Beavers, Rush and Coontz Rd’s. Jahn had a quote from the Engineers office, it will cost $319.57/Hr and will take 2 days to complete the project. Jahn also had a price from Roese Bros and Strawser to do Mohogany and Strawser St’s in Southern Point. Jahn will contact Mayor Goldhardt about the cost sharing. The Trustees also discussed what to do about the 1991 dump truck.

Cemetery- Murphy and Hudson have been cleaning up litter and leveling graves. Wolfe reported a funeral tomorrow.

Resolution 24-203; Jahn moved to appoint Tom Weatherhead to another 5-year term on the Zoning Commission. Wolfe seconded the motion. Vote; Jahn-yes, Wolfe-yes. Motion Carries.  

Resolution 24-204; Jahn moved to appoint Don Lowry to another 5-year term on the Board of Zoning Appeals. Wolfe seconded the motion. Vote; Jahn-yes, Wolfe-yes. Motion Carries.
